d'Good Cafe has been around for more than a year and has been popular for various reasons - the dainty swing, the Maple Seasalt Cheesecake and the cutesy latte art designs in the house. We found more reason for you to like d'Good cafe. Did you know that you could create your own personal blend and be served this blend every time you visits d'Good?
Ever since their beginning, they have positioned their branding as “BLEND & BREW THE WAY YOU WANT IT” with the service of providing custom blend. This way, you could always have your preferred taste profile in the coffee every time you visit the cafe. To start off, you would fill in a short survey form to indicate your preferred kind of taste profile, strength of coffee and level of acidity.
The experienced barista will then analyze and select the kind of beans you might like, before preparing them for cupping.
If you are unfamiliar with the term, cupping simply means tasting, suggesting that you would have a few types of beans presented to you for sampling.
From the three types of beans you would then rank them to your preference and provide the feedback so that the barista could estimate the proportion of beans to use to create the blend.
You would then be able to try out the blend and provide feedback again before the barista adjust it to your preferred final blend.
This process is very interesting and intriguing for first timers, and it was a fun experience for us to create a blend and make it our own.
The final blend, of course, would be the one that we favour the most and we can name it even by our own names. The next time you return, you can just quote your handphone number and they you would get your favourite coffee every time.
For expresso-based coffee lovers like me, you would be sad to hear that these blends we create cannot be made into espresso coffee as other processes like calibration would be required and it is only suitable for a larger quantity of coffee instead of a one-time consumption east visit.
If you are tired of having to trial and error to see which cafe serves the coffee blend you like, head straight to d'Good Cafe and get your own personal blend!
