While I love to review food, I love to monitor food prices. Given how inflated food costs are, I still enjoy the happiness of eating. Besides writing for Cafehopping, I do blog about fun places to head to @SGDIRECTORY.

Dessert Bowl Durian Mousse Double Shot
If you love a durian dessert then this is the dessert for you. The mousse is light and airy, and the cream isn’t too rich or sweet. The durian flavor comes through loud and clear, but it’s not overpowering or too intense. This is a dessert that’ll make you feel like you’re indulging in something decadent without feeling like you’re going to regret eating it later.
I love the texture of this mousse. It’s thick enough that it stays on your spoon as you scoop it out of the cup, but not so thick that it feels heavy or overwhelming in your mouth. I also love the taste—it’s not too sweet and has just the right amount of durian flavor to give it an exotic twist without being overpowering. The vanilla flavor comes through nicely too, so this would be great for people who aren’t fans of durian but still want something with a tropical flair.
Dessert Bowl Durian Snow Mountain
The Durian Snow Mountain was an amazing dessert. I especially loved the addition of the crunchy meringue flakes on top—they added great texture and flavor to this already incredible-tasting treat. It is a dessert that I would recommend to anyone who loves durian. The icy durian mousse is perfectly balanced with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I really enjoyed this dessert because the combination of flavors was unexpected but delicious.
The ice cream had a very subtle taste, which allowed the flavor of the durian to shine through without being overpowered by another flavor. The texture was also perfect; it wasn’t too hard or too soft, so it was easy to eat and enjoyable throughout the entire bite.
This is definitely one of my favorite desserts in Singapore!
Dessert Bowl Red Bean Coco Jelly
It’s hard to find a dessert that is both healthy and delicious. I’ve been on the lookout for years, and I finally found this Red Bean Coco Jelly!
I love the texture of this dessert—it’s not too sweet or sticky, so you don’t get too much sugar overload when you eat it. The red bean flavor comes through perfectly, with just enough sweetness to make it taste like a treat but not so much that it feels like a cheat meal. The jelly is also very filling, so you can feel good about yourself when you’re done eating it, knowing that you’ve eaten something that’s actually good for your body instead of just tasting good in your mouth.
I would definitely recommend this dessert to someone who likes coconut and red bean sauces!
Dessert Bowl Aiyu Mango
Aiyu Mango Dessert is a sticky, sweet dessert that’s made from mangoes and rice flour. It’s similar to other Asian desserts like red bean paste or dorayaki, and it’s served cold.
This dessert is a must-try for mango lovers! The mango is perfectly ripe and sweet, but not overly so. It’s served with a coconut cream that coats the entire outside of the fruit, which gives it an amazing taste and texture. The mango itself is plump and juicy, with just enough firmness to keep the shell intact. The dessert is served cold, which makes it perfect for summertime eating.
In our opinion, this dessert is perfect for people who like fresh mangoes (and who don’t mind the slightly grainy texture of evaporated milk). We also think it would be great as an addition to any meal—we had ours with a plate of steamed rice and some fried pork chops. Overall, this dessert is delicious and satisfying—it’s definitely worth trying!
Dessert Bowl Mini Durian Tart
The Mini Durian Tart is absolutely delicious. I was so excited to try this dessert because I love durian and the idea of a mini tart sounded so cute and fun.
The tart shell is flaky and buttery, but not overly rich or greasy. The inside has a nice custard consistency that’s not too rich or sweet, making it the perfect contrast to the slightly bitter flavor of the durian fruit. The overall flavor profile is sweet but not overwhelmingly so; instead, it reminds me of a cross between a custard tart and crème brûlée with just enough sweetness to make your taste buds happy without leaving you feeling like you need a nap after eating it.
I would definitely recommend trying this one if you’re looking for something new to try at Dessert Bowl. It’s delicious!
Dessert Bowl Glutinous Rice Bowl with Peanut Powder
I was excited to try this dessert because I’ve never had it before. The first bite wasn’t as sweet as I expected, but the aftertaste was really good, and it left me craving more. The texture was kind of gritty, but not in a bad way. It reminded me of a rice cake—soft and chewy, but also kind of crunchy.
The glutinous rice bowl with peanut powder is a delicious dessert, especially on a hot summer’s day. The sweet rice and peanut powder combination is just perfect. Eating the glutinous rice with peanut powder was definitely my favorite part. It added a nice crunch and flavor to the dish. I’d love to try this without the peanut powder next time to see how different it would be!
